During this auspicious month of Shravan, let's try to make Sabudana kheer typically eaten during fasting periods.

The month of Shravan is here! This auspicious month according to Hindu calendar is considered as holiest and thus many people keep a fast and a fast without sabudana is incomplete.


So, today let’s try making sugar free Sabudana kheer. The best part about this Kheer is that it contains no calories hence, is perfect for all age groups.



  • 3 cups (450ml) Milk

  • 100 grams sugar free sweetener

  • Few Kesar (Saffron) strands

  • 100g Sabudana

  • 500 ml of Water

  • 1 tbsp of Kishmish (Raisins)

  • 8-10 halved Kaju (Cashewnuts)

  • 1 tsp-Elaichi (Cardamom) Powder

  • 1 tbsp Pure Ghee



  • Soak the Sabudana in the water and keep aside for 2-3 hrs. Strain the water and cook the Sabudana in milk till soft. Add the sugar free sweetener and allow to simmer for a few minutes.

  • Heat the ghee and fry raisins and cashew nuts till they turn golden brown. Add the dry fruits to the sabudana milk mixture.

  • Sprinkle the elaichi powder, mix well and remove from fire. Serve hot or cold.
